We are very pleased that Herts County Council has made an Order to create an extension to Bishop’s Stortford Bridleway 008. This will create a new section of bridleway from Hadham Road continuing north for 170 metres to link with the existing bridleway.

Herts CC is investigating problems on High Wych Footpath 001. At the High Wych Road entrance the landowner has recently enclosed the field the footpath crosses with a wooden fence. Access for walkers is via an inappropriate set of stiles at each end of the enclosure which do not comply with the County’s standards.

This very useful and well used urban public footpath connects Apton Road to Windhill. It links three local schools – St Josephs Primary, St Michael’s Primary and St Mary’s Secondary providing a valuable link for parents and pupils.
